A dual vocational training program in Germany usually lasts three years. It combines practical on-the-job training in a company with theoretical lessons at vocational school. During the training, apprentices receive a monthly salary of approximately €800 to €1,200, depending on the occupation and year of training.

After successfully completing the apprenticeship, there are very good opportunities for direct employment and long-term career prospects in Germany.

To participate in an apprenticeship, a recognised school-leaving certificate and German language skills at least at B2 level are generally required.
